Announcing Daniel J. Weitzner as Chief Strategy Officer

Weitzner served in the Obama White House as the United States' data and technology policy leader, where he helped write the rules that govern how the internet handles personal information at national scale. He is the founding director of the MIT Internet Policy Research Initiative and held the 3Com Founders Senior Research Scientist chair at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). He also teaches internet public policy in MIT's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. Before joining MIT, Weitzner led the fight for Internet free speech and privacy at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Center for Democracy and Technology.
